MDG Monitor
SummaryText
The MDG Monitor shows how countries are progressing in their efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). With the 2015 target date approaching, this tool aims to demonstrate whether the goals are on track, and where additional efforts and support are needed, both globally and at the country level.
The MDG Monitor is designed as a tool for policymakers, development practitioners, journalists, students, and others to:
- Track progress through interactive maps and country-specific profiles. The interactive map shows locations that correspond to a variety of statistical data related to the MDGs. For example, MDG-related information about economic poverty may be selected. Data on a legend and corresponding colour-coded locations on the map will appear with dates of the resource data used to supply the indicators. Country-specific profiles are augmented by yearly reports on indigenous issues prepared by the United Nations Permanent Forum.
- Learn about countries' challenges and achievements and get the most recent news. RSS-based ("Really Simple Syndication" or "Rich Site Summary") news feeds place recent news under the headings of each MDG.
- The "Support organisations" section lists UN and other organisations working on the MDGs around the world.
