The companies participating in this study have seen sickness rates fall, a decline in overall health complaints of 0.2 percent, and a 3.2 percent drop in absenteeism. Staff morale has improved.The new working systems have decreased the feelings of isolation reported by workers, while improving worker communication and job satisfaction. Half of all apprenticeships are now offered to women. The number of accidents per year dropped by more than 4 percent between 1992 to 1998; days missed from work due to sickness or accidents fell by nearly 80 percent during the same time period.
