Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.
 
Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.
 
We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

From the Promising Practices: Pandemic Influenza tools website of the University of Minnesota (MN) Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CDRAP) website, this entry, H1N1 Foreign and Sign Language Resources, was assembled by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). This department maintains a clearinghouse of H1N1 resources in 32 different languages. Resources were gathered from numerous public health agencies and are available in various languages. For instance, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s vaccine information statements are only available in Spanish and Chinese, while H1N1 resources pertaining to refugees are available in Kirundi and Burmese.

Component parts include H1N1 resources in the following languages:

Chinese, Sign languages, Hmong, Hindi, Gujarati, French, Bantu (Other,) Creoles and pidgins (Other), Korean, Khmer, Burmese, Bengali, Armenian, Arabic, Amharic, Farsi, Russian, Turkish, Thai, Tagalog, Swahili, Spanish, Japanese, Serbian, Vietnamese, Punjabi, Portuguese, Polish, Nepali, Lao, Kurdish, and Somali.
