Environmental Broadcast Circle (EBC) - South East Asia
The Environmental Broadcast Circle (EBC) is a network of broadcast media practitioners and educators committed to providing the public with information on the environment and sustainable development through their programmes and activities. EBC serves as a clearing house for channeling information between sectors and communities and the participating broadcast practitioners.
Communication Strategies
- Clearinghouse - A center that facilitates the flow of communications to and from sources of information e.g., communities, government offices, NGOs, and broadcast media practitioners. Broadcast materials are received, researched, stored, verified, repackaged and delivered to TV and radio stations.
- Networking - Linkaging with communities, NGOs, government entities and broadcast media practitioners. Regular networking activities like meetings, forums, conferences are also conducted.
- Training - The conduct of seminars, workshops for scriptwriters, producers, announcers, students and other workers in the broadcast industry on environment and sustainable development and various aspects of production.
- Environmental Broadcasting - The production and broadcasting of environmental programmes by members of TV, radio and theatre.
- Research, Documentation & Production - The gathering, processing, analyzing, and writing of data and information and producing the same through print and broadcast media like reports, manuals, pamphlets, books, newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, and video production, etc.
- Video Resource Center - The production, collection and distribution of video materials on environment and sustainable development in partnership with TVE (Television Trust for the Environment) International, TVE Japan & TVE Sri Lanka & other TVE partners.
